During the exclusive interview of CCTV, the Minister of MIIT Miao Yu said that China has set about researching 6G development, which also known as the sixth generation mobile communication.

As to the reason of researching 6G before starting use 5G, Miao Yu explained that with the field of mobile communication employment expanding, we should providing not only the communication services between the people, but also the connection between physical objects, which is known as the concept of IoT.

In the age of 5G, the latency standard has entered into millisecond, that means the time delay less than 1ms, and people cannot perceive it at all. One false step will make a great difference. During the controlling of driverless vehicle and drone, one millisecond delay may result in car crash, and the 6G network which has high bandwidth, low latency and wide coverage is needed.

Miao Yu also gave an example of driverless vehicle. Except receiving the information from sensor, the connection of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-road also need establishing.
